What to Do With Tax Refund?

January 3rd, 2017 at 04:04 am

Well it's that time of year again... TAX TIME!!!

I've already started inputting my information but of course I haven't received everything to put in the system yet.

So I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I already know I'm going to go on holiday with some of it. A couple of my best mates and I will be going on a cruise. We'll be sharing the same room so that will make it cost a bit less.

The rest...

I should have my reimbursement by then hopefully so emergency fund should be re-funded. I'd pay off one card but my parents will be doing that. So the other things that are left are things that wouldn't get paid off with it.

I'm thinking if I should fund all the things that I should save for such as Christmas presents, property taxes and whatnot. Especially for the move I plan on doing in July if I don't move sooner. (If another incident happens at the apartments, I may need to see if I can break my lease for safety reasons. Last week a woman stabbed her husband/boyfriend after catching him with another woman)

What are ya'lls plans? And/or maybe you have some opinions on what I should do.

Is your sidebar up to date? You have a lot of debt. I would definitely use the money for that or to save for larger expenses you expect to have, such as the property taxes. Our tax refund will go to pay part of my daughter's college tuition for the spring.

    Happy New Year.
I suspect you are new to Cruise type vacations. While it seems 'all inclusive', each person pays the same amount no matter how many share a room for breaking rules like taking liquor on board, no matter the reason, no matter the source. They are expert at getting passengers to spend more. Some on-board restaurants purport to be a higher standard and specifically charge for meals. Most costly are ship organized excursions. These can also be arranged by passengers, on-line, before departure from tour companies. Using ship internet or phone service is not to be believed expensive. Naturally there is gambling and gaming as well. Finally, at the end of the cruise passengers receive a 'gratuity' bill which is a tip-out to staff. Passengers can go to the desk and as the sum be lowered but understand the behind the scene staff get point of origin wages, only a few dollars a day. They lose their job if they get less than excellent reports. I've no idea what percentage the Cruise Line retains of tip out.

I doubt the law supports breaking your lease when another tenant injures someone else. How much do you need to pay to satisfy the terms and conditions of your lease? It is very expensive to be dissatisfied with your choice of accommodation.
You may have noticed your Rewards card has been rewarding itself by charging you 15.15% on a $ 7,751. balance. You may be surprised by actual dollar total of interest.

Sian, sorry, my computer contracts sentences if I get called away...
trying to say each individual pays the same rate no matter how many share a cabin on ship. Likewise cannot take liquor on board. They expel passengers, no refund, get yourself home costs

My side bar isn't up to date for the medical collections. My parents use to pay me for their cell phone (i pay their bill because it was a goal to do that for them). So they use that money to pay the medical collections. And there is a $73 monthly student loan I forgot to put in there.

    SNAFU:
I understood what you were stating. I don't drink alcohol so that will save me on that part. I tend to drink a lot of flavored water and will more than likely keep doing what I do now. Drink out of a gallon jug and flavor my free water lol.

I'll look into something closer to "all-inclusive" and see what that gets me.

I'm actually thinking of paying off the resort. I hate that thing and want to get rid of it. I know the rewards card has a high interest rate, but the resort is a lower balance. I'll just apply what I was paying on that to the rewards card. That way I can pay it off sooner.

    Thanks ya'll!
